Bull shark

Bull sharks are stocky requiem sharks associated with coastal and estuarine environments. They are particularly notable for tolerating low-salinity water and can travel into rivers and other brackish or freshwater systems.
That habitat flexibility often makes the bull shark part of discussions about nearshore human-shark interactions. However, a coastal or river-mouth incident should never be assigned to a bull shark simply because the habitat is plausible.
The species page should combine biological context with the site's incident records and clearly separate confirmed, probable and reported identifications.
